Congressman Mike Coffman Visits NAMJet Facility

NAMJet, a Denver Colorado based company, is a leading manufacturer of waterjet propulsion systems for marine vessels worldwide. NAMJet, and sister company Birdon, recently invited Colorado Congressman Mike Coffman to visit the facility on August 15th, 2017.

Congressman Coffman has always been a strong supporter for both companies. “Even though we are located outside of his district, Coffman has always shown a strong interest in both Birdon and NAMJet,” said Jim Ducker, President of Birdon America. The staff prepared a short presentation for Coffman before he was led on a tour of the facility. Coffman then made himself available for a question and answer session in which the employees thoroughly enjoyed.

Coffman’s team posted on his Facebook page about the visit saying, “had a good visit today at Birdon {NAMJet}. They are at the cutting edge of turbine technology and all of this happening right here in CO!” During the visit Coffman, a veteran of the Army and the Marine Corps, was most excited in the Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) project.  AAVs transport troops from ship to shore and NAMJet has been selected as the propulsion solution to refit up to 390 vehicles.  The employees of NAMJet take great pride in the work they are doing for this project as many are also veterans.

Ducker went on to say “We have a number of former military employees. Having projects that support the Marines and Army personnel does a lot for the whole group.” Birdon America and NAMJet invite all Colorado Congressmen and Senators to visit their facility and see the jobs being created and the great work being done in Colorado.
