The Birdon team has inducted Boat #6 into the Motor Lifeboat Service Life Extension Program for the US Coast Guard. Under our contract with the USCG, Birdon will perform a complete refurbishment and refit of up to 117 x 47’ Motor Lifeboats (MLB). The induction process signifies the beginning of work on each vessel. On the West Coast, we are working on three vessels concurrently – all at different stages of completion.
MLB #6 underwent testing on our Weight & Centre of Gravity Measurement Cradle (WCMC) and is now in our West Coast Facility, where strip-out is underway. A big thank you to all members of the Birdon team and our neighbors at Port of Bellingham who helped us make this happen ahead of schedule for the USCG.
